Dr. Catherine Bowen


Cathie’s Doctorate was on Family Business Succession and Dispute. This field of research supports her small consulting business where she works with families who are in business together and who need to work on their succession planning, especially where tensions have emerged and communication is suffering. Cathie is a professional Mediator.

Cathie sits on the Royal Agricultural Society Board, is President of her local Progress Association and has a long history of initiating or being involved in local community projects. She was one of the three wheat belt women who initiated the West Australian branch of Australian Women in Agriculture, and shared in early planning for the RRR Magazine for in WA. Different Scholarships and Awards have recognised Cathie’s involvement in Agriculture and she has spoken at many Conferences and Seminars in Australia and overseas.
Cathie is currently Lecturing at Curtin University in the Business School and has a close involvement with Entrepreneurship. Her innovative on-farm project seeks to add value to the current fodder-hay market.
