The Commission consists of three or four members, appointed by the Minister for Agriculture and Food. One person is appointed by the Minister as Chair.
Appointments are for a period not exceeding three years, but on expiry of tenure the incumbent can apply for a further term. Vacancies are advertised in relevant newspapers prior to expiry of current terms.
